The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has published a brief but interesting review of how some of those show-stopping diamonds that hit the headlines performed at auction in 2017. The message seems to be one of buoyancy but perhaps a with a degree of selectivity. It will be interesting, as we gear up to a busy spring auction season to see what impact, if any, this has on the market in 2018.
