Clare makes (Radio) Waves in Australia

Clare has been delivering a lecture tour for Arts National, Australia (the Australian wing of The Arts Society) - she has been touring the East to West coast, covering Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth with a few stops in between.

Her talks have been so well received and have covered a variety of topics including 'The Fascination of Jewellery' where Clare discusses jewellery in the lives of four vastly different women - the glittering collections of US businesswoman Marjorie Merriweather Post, mining heiress and socialite Evalyn Walsh McLean, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and the actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Within this insightful conversation, Clare highlights the collections of these women and how their backgrounds influenced their jewellery choices as well as the messages jewellery can send in respect of status, wealth and politics.

The interest in Clare's Australian tour was high and during her visit she was interviewed live on radio twice. In her interviews she discussed 'Women in Jewellery' and revealed the most special pieces of jewellery in her own collection. In addition she highlights the three reasons behind people acquiring jewellery - you won't believe what they are - or perhaps you can guess?

You can listen to the full interviews here - ABC Radio Australia and with Stacey Lee for FIVEaa here.
